In a breaking news story posted on bossierpress.com yesterday morning, a Barksdale airman was reported to be in custody after his two year old step-son was found dead early Thursday morning at the family home in base housing on BAFB grounds.

BAFB officials report that the airman remains in pre-trial custody at this time. He is still being held at BAFB under the direction of his squadron commander.

The case remains under investigation this afternoon by the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (which operates independently of the 2nd Bomb Wing as a federal law enforcement and investigative agency).

Neither the name of the airman or the child has yet to be released at the time of this update Friday afternoon.
