UPDATE: Sheriff’s Office investigates pedestrian fatality in Haughton

UPDATE: The name of the pedestrian who was struck and killed by a delivery truck early this morning on E. Highway 80 in Haughton has been identified as 45-year-old Charles E. Cutright, Jr., of Pepper Point Mobile Home Park in Bossier City.

Bossier Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating a pedestrian fatality that occurred around 5 a.m. Wednesday morning at the 1100 block of E. Highway 80 (just east of the intersection with Bodcau Station Road) in the Haughton area.

A Bossier patrol deputy initially spotted a delivery truck on the side of the road on Highway 80 and made contact with the driver just after the driver accidentally struck the man, who had apparently been walking on the inside lane of the highway.
Identity of the man is pending next of kin notification.
There are no signs of impairment with the driver, and no charges are being made at this point.
Motorists should expect delays in the eastbound lanes of E. Highway 80 in the area as the investigation continues.
