Update to LSU Health Shreveport COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule Effective April 19

LSU Health Shreveport

The Center for Emerging Viral Threats (CEVT) at LSU Health Shreveport will no longer offer COVID-19 testing at the North Campus site effective Tuesday, April 19. As widely shared in recent weeks, the number of new COVID-19 cases remains low and there has been a decrease in demand and funding for community testing throughout the U.S. Testing is still available at many pharmacies, primary care facilities, health units, and urgent care facilities. For a list of COVID-19 testing sites in your area, visit ldh.la.gov/coronavirus. Free at-home COVID-19 tests can also be ordered online at www.covid.gov/tests.

Primary and booster shots of the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines will continue to be available to the public at the North Campus site located at 2627 Linwood Avenue, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. While pre-registration is encouraged, no appointment is needed to receive a vaccine. For more information and to pre-register, visit www.lsuhs.edu/covid19/vaccine.

LSU Health Shreveport vaccination sites will be closed Friday, April 15 – Monday, April 18 in observance of the Easter holiday. The LSUHS North Campus site will resume regularly scheduled operations for vaccinations on Tuesday, April 19, at 10 a.m.
