UPDATE: Warrant issued for suspect in apartment complex shooting

UPDATE: Detectives with the Bossier City Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit have obtained an arrest warrant for the suspected gunman in yesterday’s shooting at the Northpark Apartments on Montgomery Lane.

The suspect is identified as Keaton Deshod Nicholson, 25, of Bossier City. Nicholson faces a charge of aggravated second degree battery in connection with the incident. Anyone with information on Nicholson’s whereabouts is asked to call Bossier Crime Stoppers at (318) 424-4100.  Persons who contact Bossier Crime Stoppers are reminded they may remain totally anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
The Bossier City Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred just before 3 p.m. today at local housing complex.

Police were called to the Northpark Apartments in the 2500 block of Montgomery Lane initially in reference to the discharge of a firearm. When officers arrived on the scene they found 19-year old Laterreon D. Morrison in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. Bossier City Fire Department personnel took him to University Health in Shreveport for treatment.

It appears Morrison was shot while he was engaged in an altercation with the suspect who is believed to be a black male with a light complexion in his mid 20’s, 6’2″ – 6’4″ tall with a medium build. No arrest has been made at this time.
