An Office of State Fire Marshal (SFM) investigation has resulted in the arrest of an Arkansas man on multiple charges.
On June 13, 2026, Bossier Parish Fire District 7 requested assistance from the SFM to investigate a vehicle fire in the 1100 block of Goodman Street in Plain Dealing.
After examining the scene and conducting a follow-up investigation, SFM investigators determined the fire had been intentionally set.
As a result of the investigation, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for 49-year-old Andrew Ellis of Lewisville, Arkansas, on the following charges:
• Simple Arson (La RS 14:52)
• Stalking (La RS 14:40.2)
• Aggravated Assault Upon a Dating Partner (La RS 14:34.9.1)
• Communicating False Information of Planned Arson (La RS 14:54.1)
• Criminal Trespass (La RS 14:63), two counts
Deputies with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office in Arkansas located and arrested Ellis in Lewisville.
This remains an active investigation, and no further details are being released at this time.
