Vehicle fire spreads to building at local apartment complex

The Bossier City Fire Department responded to a fire this afternoon that caused damage at a local apartment complex.

Firefighters were called to the Cordova Court Apartments in the 900 block of Westgate Drive at around 1 p.m. in reference to a vehicle fire however the blaze had quickly spread to a portion of one of the apartment buildings while crews rushed to the scene.

Firefighters had the fire out in less than 10 minutes and managed to keep it from spreading inside the building.  However the vehicle, a four door passenger car, was destroyed. A portion of a wooden balcony was also damaged.

While fire crews were battling the fire, other fire department personnel checked neighboring apartments for occupants as a precaution.  No residents were at home and subsequently no injuries were reported.

The cause of the vehicle fire remains is under investigation.
