A sedan with two occupants was traveling west on Shady Grove Boulevard, crossing over the Arthur Ray Teague Parkway, to travel south. While crossing the Arthur Ray Teague Parkway (northbound lane), the sedan was struck by a pickup truck. The accident happened around 2 p.m.

The driver of the sedan was killed. BCPD has identified her as Mary Jolley, 76, of Elm Grove. The driver of the pickup truck has been identified as  Brandon Valigora, 30, of Castor.

Bossier City Fire Department personnel transported Jolley to University Health Hospital in Shreveport where she was pronounced dead. The sedan’s teenage passenger, whose name is not being released, and Valigora were also transported to University Health Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Bossier City police are still investigating the crash. Information released by BCPD Thursday indicate that the weather (heavy rain) may have contributed to the accident.  They also say alcohol does not appear to have contributed to the accident, but blood tests are performed with all fatal crashes.
