Video: Virtual Graduation – BPCC graduates a record 936 students for Spring 2020

Bossier Parish Community College is proud to announce the graduates of its historic spring semester.

With 936 graduates and 1,223 credentials received, the spring 2020 class marks the highest number of graduates in the College’s history. Among the graduates are 24 high school dual enrollment students, earning a total of 7 associates degrees and 26 certificates.

BPCC honored its graduates virtually on May 8th, which would have been the day of the traditional ceremony. The virtual ceremony video features a special message to the graduates from BPCC Chancellor Dr. Rick Bateman, Jr.; Dr. Monty Sullivan, President of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System; Dr. Kim Hunter Reed, Commissioner of Higher Education; and Governor John Bel Edwards. BPCC Faculty and Staff also congratulated the Class of 2020 through a series of photos in the video.

“This has been a historic semester. We are living through a global pandemic and, yet, our students persevered and reached the culmination of their studies,” Chancellor Bateman said. “We weren’t prepared for the semester to change as abruptly as it did, but our faculty, staff and students responded to and overcame the challenge.”

BPCC will formally honor its spring graduates at a traditional ceremony later this summer.
