PLAIN DEALING – Funeral services for Mrs. Virgie Chandler Harville Cook, age 86, will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at the Plain Dealing Baptist Church with Rev. James Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Plain Dealing Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Plain Dealing, LA.

Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home in Plain Dealing.

Mrs. Cook was born on January 13, 1927 to William Lazarus Chandler and Ada Esther Higgs Silliman Chandler and passed away Saturday, November 9, 2013 in Bossier City, LA. She was a lifelong resident of Plain Dealing and was a faithful member of the Plain Dealing Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and had worked as a sales clerk at S&S Grocery; was an artist and loved cooking for her family and friends. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Cook is preceded in death by her husbands, Reynold Lucian Harville, Sr on April 9, 1985 and Jack Cook on August 3, 2012; her son, R. L. “Joe” Harville, Jr. on February 11, 2007.

Mrs. Cook is survived by a daughter, Donna Herrington of Shreveport, LA; four grandchildren, Tyrette Bodine and husband, Michael of Leesville, LA; James Herrington of Shreveport, LA; Heather Harville of Plain Dealing, LA; Heath Harville and wife, Wendy of Athens, LA; two great-grandsons, Ryan and Charles; a great-great-grandson, Kasen; sisters, Jeannie Gore and husband, Louis of Taylor, AR; Carredo Poole; brothers, Eddie Chandler and wife, Sally; Freddie Chandler and wife, Mary, all of Plain Dealing, LA..
