Volleyball: Airline drops Shreve in five-set thriller

The Airline volleyball team improved to 5-2 with a five-set victory over Captain Shreve Wednesday at Airline.

The Lady Vikings and Lady Gators split the first four sets. Airline won the first and third sets 25-12 and 25-23. Captain Shreve won the second and fourth sets 25-19 and 25-20. The Lady Vikings edged the Lady Gators 15-13 in the final set to take the match.

Shebli Chaddick led Airline with a season-high 20 kills and nine aces. Kennedy Parson had 10 kills and 20 assists.

Airline also won the JV game in two sets, 25-19, 25-14. Lauren Pilcher had four aces. Danielle Niederhofer had three kills.

Shreve won the freshman game in three sets, 25-10, 17-25, 9-15.

The Lady Vikings varsity squad hosts Sulphur in a district doubleheader Friday at 3:30 p.m.
