Trailblazer RC&D is announcing two new programs – Shoreline Watch and Weed Wardens.
Both programs will work in cooperation with the Bienville Parish Police Jury, Bossier Parish Police Jury, Webster Parish Police Jury, the Bistineau Task Force and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
The new programs will run through October 31st and are designed to involve the public in the battle against Giant Salvinia on Lake Bistineau. Property owners, stakeholders, and other lake users are encouraged to sign up for the Shoreline Watch program. Informational materials regarding the program will be provided to all who sign up. The project team has begun enlisting a limited number of “Weed Wardens” to also serve through October 31. “Weed Wardens” are volunteers who are present on the lake at least 3-4 days per week enjoying fishing or boating on Lake Bistineau. There are a limited number of Weed Warden positions available, please contact Bob Brotherton at 318-423-7108 for more information. Both Shoreline Watch and Weed Warden Programs are being offered to area lakes.
