Wedding: Villemarette-Grimes

Ashley Elizabeth Villemarette and Sean Dewayne Grimes, both of Bossier City, were married on November 8, 2014 at Six-thirty in the evening at The Cathedral of St. John Berchmans in Shreveport, LA.  They were united in marriage with Rev. Msgr. J. Carson Lacaze performing the ceremony. The music was performed by Aaron Wilson with Patsy Busi as soloist.

Ashley is the daughter of Wayne and Linda Whittington Villemarette of Bossier City.  Ashley is the granddaughter of Maj. (Ret.) Oddis Whittington (originally of Gloster, MS) and the Late Marjorie Norris Whittington (originally of Monroe, LA) and the Late Johnnie and Rose Moreau Villemarette (originally of Hessmer, LA) who have all been of Bossier City, LA in their senior years.

Sean is the son of Kathleen Madden Grimes and the Late Kenneth Grimes of Shreveport.  Sean is the grandson of the Late Russ Madden of Tyler, TX and Bonnie Madden of Shreveport, LA and the Late Charlie and Maggie Grimes of Phoenix City, AL

Ashley looked absolutely gorgeous as she walked down the aisle wearing her dream wedding gown, a luxurious

off-white ball gown designed by Maggie Sottero.  The gown named ‘Fallon’ had a sweetheart neckline with

necklace-like embroidered Swarovski crystals adorning the fitted bodice. The floor length ball gown skirt flowed vertically with ruffled layers of Vicenza Organza. The bodice and skirt were joined with a detachable grosgrain Swarovski crystal beaded belt.  The back was finished with a corset closure flowing down to the long train.  Ashley wore a headpiece adorned with Swarovski crystals and a fingertip tulle veil highlighted with Swarovski crystals.  Her dream ‘Jimi Choo’ shoes finished off her elegant bridal attire.  As a special ‘forever’ gift, Ashley’s mother made her the brilliant rhinestone brooch bouquet she carried.

The bridesmaids wore Dusty rose empire-waist floor-length gowns accented with black sashes and rhinestone brooches.  They each carried a bouquet of roses and baby’s breath. The Maid of Honor was Ms. Emily Hughes and the Matron of Honor was Mrs. Megan Welch who are both long-time friends and classmates of the bride.  The bride’s two sisters, Michelle Barnickel and Kimberly Hull, were bridesmaids as were two of her cousins,

Tiffiny Wells and Melissa  Johnston.  Ashley’s long-time friends and classmates also attended as bridesmaids including Amy Smith, Jamie Beverage and Shannon Bothel.  Her friends Sara Blankenship and Sara Rhodes who met Ashley at LSU working in the Peds department also attended as bridesmaids. Aspen Thomas, the bride’s niece, served as the Flower Girl.

Sean wore a black tuxedo with an off-white vest and tie.  The grooms Best Man was his co-worker Mounir Semhan.  The groom’s cousin, Patrick Madden, stood with Sean as a groomsman.  Sean’s new family members also attended him as groomsmen including Robert Barnickel, Eric Hull and Matthew Barnickel.  His friend, Eric Smith, also stood with Sean.  The groomsmen wore black tuxedoes with dusty rose vests and ties.

Bella Amore Ballroom in Bossier City hosted the Paris themed reception immediately following the reception.

Ashley is a 2003 graduate of Parkway High School and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.  She is currently employed as a Registered Nurse at Willis-Knighton Hospital in Bossier City.

Sean is a 2000 graduate of Airline High School and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.  Sean is currently employed as a programmer for Praeses, Inc. in Shreveport

After a honeymoon to Montego Bay, Jamaica, Ashley and Sean will live in Bossier City along with their two beloved dachshunds, Beaux and Toby.
