Wedding: Wells-Plaisance

Stephanie Marie Wells and Michael Lee Plaisance were united in marriage on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at four o’clock in the afternoon at First United Methodist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana. The ceremony was officiated by Dr. Pat Day and Dr. Will Andress. Music for the ceremony was provided by organist Ray Peebles.

The bride is the daughter of David and Penny Wells of Bossier City, Louisiana. She is the granddaughter of the late Frank and Mary Spessard, the late Hugh D. Wells, the late Mary Henley, and Jane Wells of Shreveport, Louisiana. The groom is the son of M.J. and Dawn Plaisance of Houma, Louisiana. He is the grandson of Mildred Boudreaux Plaisance, the late Norman A. Plaisance, Iris Ledet McCleskey, the late F. David McCleskey, and the late Edward V. Jackson.

Bridesmaids were Leeanna Jones of Bossier City, Louisiana; Hannah Schilling of Bossier City, Louisiana; Heather King of Falcon, Colorado; Peyton Sanford of Shreveport, Louisiana; Debbie Washburne of Raceland, Louisiana; Erica George of Bossier City, Louisiana; and Nikki Justice of Shreveport, Louisiana.

Serving as best man was the groom’s brother Dominic Plaisance of Raceland, Louisiana. Groomsmen were the groom’s father, M.J. Plaisance; Casey Songe of Houma, Louisiana; Dennis Trahan of Thibodaux, Louisiana; Chris Dupre of Thibodaux, Louisiana; Jeremy Poche of Gonzales, Louisiana; Mitchell Dies of Gonzales, Louisiana; and Austin Hebert of Houma, Louisiana.

Serving as ushers were Matthew Beach, cousin of the bride, of Galveston, Texas; Jimmy Adkison of Bossier City, Louisiana; Mitchell Jackson, cousin of the groom, of Fairhope, Alabama; and Joshua Richard, cousin of the groom, of Lafayette, Louisiana. Ring bearer was Merrick Peek, cousin of the groom, of Sulfur, Louisiana; and flower girl was Bailey Richard, cousin of the groom, of Gonzales, Louisiana.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Azalea Hall in Bossier City. Music was provided by AJ the DJ. Flowers were provided by Garden Style Florists and Karyn Webb created the bride’s and groom’s cakes. Photography was provided by Carrie Linn Photography.

Stephanie was a 2011 graduate of Parkway High School in Bossier City, Louisiana, attended The Art Institute in Dallas, Texas, and Fletcher Community College in Houma. She is currently employed at American Eagle and Books-a-Million in Houma, Louisiana. Michael was a 2008 graduate of Terrebonne High School, attended Louisiana Tech in Ruston, Louisiana, and is currently attending Nicholls State University in Thibodaux. He is employed by Cased Hole Well Services.

After a short honeymoon trip, the couple will reside in Houma, Louisiana.
