AIRLINE NOTES: Vikings will be looking for a better offensive performance after gaining 118 yards in 24-10 loss to Ruston last week. Airline had chances against Ruston but couldn’t take advantage. Vikings will be facing a team that likes to keep the ball on the ground.

FRANKLIN PARISH NOTES: Patriots are ranked No. 9 in Class 4A. Franklin Parish has wins over ASH, 26-7, and West Feliciana, 34-28. Reginald Carter (118 yards), Marcus Bingham (112) and Brandon Hillman (106) all had big games against West Feliciana..

PLAYERS TO WATCH: Airline — QB Chase Rivers, DE Brynden Vance, DB Tyrice Neal. Franklin Parish — RB Reginald Carter, RB Marcus Bingham.

 

Haughton at Minden

HAUGHTON NOTES: Bucs rolled up 487 total yards in 52-14 victory over Benton last week. Louisiana Tech commit Jarred Craft is parish’s leading rusher with 259 yards on 24 carries, an average of 10.79 yards per carry.

MINDEN NOTES: Minden has a new head coach in Spencer Heard, a former Parkway assistant. The Crimson Tide has already won as many games as it did all of last season. Minden held Bolton to 20 rushing yards.

PLAYERS TO WATCH: Haughton — OL Travis White, E Michael Harris, WR Javonte Woodard. Minden — QB Turner Francis, WR Mikey James, ATH La’Jarius Sneed.

 

Parkway at Arkansas High

ARKANSAS HIGH NOTES: Arkansas High is coming off a 33-21 victory over Greenbrier. The Razorbacks lost to cross-border rival Texas High 16-0 in their opener. Razorbacks had more than 300 yards rushing against Greenbrier.

PARKWAY NOTES: Panthers are averaging 58.5 points per game. Brandon Harris, an LSU commit, has passed for 458 yards and five touchdowns in about five quarters of work. Brodrick Jefferson has 10 catches for 177 yards.

PLAYERS TO WATCH: Arkansas High — RB Stacy Moss, RB Andrew Bishop. Parkway — DB Dante Williams, RB Demetrius McAtee, QB Brandon Harris.

 

La. New Tech at Benton

LA. NEW TECH NOTES: Coach Coy Brotherton will be looking for improvement from his defense. The Lions have scored 65 points in their two losses and allowed 114. Logan Allen has accounted for 872 yards in two games (214 rushing, 658 passing).

BENTON NOTES: First-year coach Reynolds Moore will also be looking for improvement from his defense. The Tigers allowed almost 500 yards against Haughton. After an impressive debut in a loss to Sterlington, Benton’s new spread offense had some glitches against Haughton.

PLAYERS TO WATCH: La. New Tech — QB Logan Allen, WR Tray Harris, FS/WR Isaac Jacobs. Benton — QB Jordan Shaffer, RB TJ Anderson.

 

Northwood at Bossier

WHERE: Bossier’s Memorial Stadium

LAST YEAR: Bossier won 35-27

RECORDS: Northwood 1-1, Bossier 0-2

NORTHWOOD NOTES: Falcons lost All-District 1-4A quarterback Jerrick Peterson to a knee injury in the first game of the season. Northwood fell to Captain Shreve 13-10 last week on a field goal with 15 seconds left in the game.

BOSSIER NOTES: The Bearkats turned their season around with a victory over Northwood last year. Bossier showed improvement on offense in a 28-23 loss to Huntington last week. The Bearkats gained 253 yards with their Wing-T offense. Fullback Chris Hall led the way with 101 yards on 14 carries.

PLAYERS TO WATCH: Northwood — QB Aaron Varelas, WR Deauton Delgado. Bossier — RB Chris Hall, QB Justin Kennon, FB/LB Isaiah McKinsey.
