Dr. Wilden specializes in deep brain stimulation (DBS), a procedure that treats Parkinson’s disease, tremors and other disabling neurological symptoms. “We are offering an extremely unique service,” she says. “We are the only private hospital for adults in the United States to offer the deep brain stimulation while asleep under general anesthesia using the specialized interventional MRI technique.”

Dr. Wilden also offers surgery for neck pain, back pain, spinal arthritis, spinal stenosis, herniated disk, brain tumors, epilepsy/seizures, and hydrocephalus, among other diseases.

After earning her Doctor of Medicine from Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, MN, Dr. Wilden completed an internship in the Department of General Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. She subsequently completed residency at the Department of Neurosurgery at Indiana University. Following that, she finished a functional fellowship at the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of California-San Francisco and then began practicing medicine in Shreveport in the fall of 2013.

She is joined at Tri-State Neurosurgery by two advanced practitioners who also see patients. “We want prospective patients to know that we treat each person like family and, to this end, I am heavily involved in each patient’s care at every stage.”
