Mr. Willie Thomas, Sr., 78, of Elm Grove , LA, died Sunday, February 23, 2014. Funeral services will be held March 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fairview Baptist Church.
Rev. Irving Barfield will be officiating. Open visitation will be Friday at Winnfield Funeral Home and another viewing at 10:00 a.m. March 1, 2014.
He was born August 16, 1935 in Elm Grove, Louisiana. He was a lifelong resident of Elm Grove. His parents were L.V. and Mary Lizzie Thomas. His sister Georgia Thomas preceded him in death along with his two brothers, Kay Thomas and L.V. Thomas, Jr. His granddaughter Devon Denae Thomas also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Cora Yvonne Scott Thomas,children Victoria Ross (Chester), Willie Thomas,Jr. (Patricia), Debra Bell, Gary Thomas, Jewett Winston, Annetta Modest (John), Brierre Thomas, Margaret Jordan (Anthony), “Sonny” Thomas(Mary), 26 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, sister Nancy Jamison, brothers McKinley Thomas and Elijah Thomas and host of nieces,nephews, cousins and friends.
