Willis Knighton Cancer Center will celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day on Sunday, June 2, from 1:30 to 4
p.m. at the Willis Knighton Eye Institute, 2611 Greenwood Road.

This year’s event has a fiesta theme, “No Time to Siesta! It’s a Fiesta!” Each year cancer survivors and their
families take this time to greet one another and reconnect with Cancer Center staff and physicians. It also
offers a chance to get answers about their cancer from a team of experts.

The event is free but registration is required. Online: wkhs.co/survivor. Phone: 318-212-9547.

“Willis Knighton Cancer Center Survivors Day celebration is such a great opportunity for doctors and staff to
socialize with our former patients,” says Lane R. Rosen, MD, medical director of radiation oncology at Willis-
Knighton Cancer Center. “Surviving cancer is a wonderful accomplishment, and these patients have earned the
right to celebrate what they’ve achieved. We are excited to the upcoming event.”

National Cancer Survivors Day is observed each year on the first Sunday in June by communities throughout
the world and is sponsored by the National Cancer Survivors Day Foundation. It serves as a celebration for
those who have survived, an inspiration for those recently diagnosed, a gathering of support for families, and
an outreach to the community.

The U.S. has 18.1 million cancer survivors, and that number is projected to increase to 22.2 million by 2030.
