Willis-Knighton Health System has enhanced its Community Education program by adding WK Spirit of Women. WK Spirit of Women is an integrated partnership between hospitals and healthcare systems and the national Spirit of Women program to provide the necessary healthcare resources for women and their families.
As a Spirit of Women hospital, Willis-Knighton Health System has committed to upholding a comprehensive list of National Standards for Excellence in Women’s Health. Focusing on women and their role in making up to 85% of household healthcare decisions, the educational and motivational Spirit of Women efforts are expected to positively impact the well-being of the entire family and community as a whole.
“Our mission at Willis-Knighton is to continuously improve the health and well-being of the people we serve,” says Leslie Smith, WK Spirit of Women Coordinator. “Women are natural educators and caregivers and this free program is an approach to health and wellness that engages members through fun, interactive and memorable experiences.”
The 2013-14 WK Spirit of Women calendar begins on August 27 with a lunch and seminar on shoulder, hip, and knee pain presented by Dr. Andrew J. Moritz. Event details and registration information can be found on the WK Spirit website (www.wkspirit.com) under Programs and Events.
