Women’s basketball: Mikaylah Williams named to USA’s 3X3 World Cup roster

Current LSU and former Parkway star Mikayla Williams has been named to the USA Women’s 3X3 National Team set to compete at the 2025 FIBA 3×3 World Cup June 23-29 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

The other members are Morgan Maly, Sarah Strong and Sahara Williams.

Mikaylah Williams will be a junior a LSU this fall. She was a first-team All-SEC selection last season 

Williams helped the USA U18 team win three consecutive gold medals from 2021-23.

Maly, whose five-year career at Creighton University (2020-25) saw her become a three-time All-Big East First Team member, spent the WNBA preseason with the Connecticut Sun. Her 3×3 career began at 3×3 USA Basketball 3X Nationals, where she and the Blue Jays won the title. She represented the U.S. at the FIBA 3×3 Nations League and the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series the last two summers.

Strong, an incoming sophomore at University of Connecticut, is a three-time FIBA 3×3 U18 Women’s World Cup champion (2022, 2023, 2024).

Mikayla Williams, Sahara Williams and Strong played on the USA team that competed in Women’s Series Marseilles Stop in Marseille, France, in May. The USA went 4-0 on the opening day before falling to eventual champion Spain 20-12 in the quarterfinals.
