Women’s college basketball: BPCC ends two-game slide

The Bossier Parish Community College Lady Cavs ended a two-game slide with a 71-67 Region XIV victory over Kilgore College Wednesday at BPCC.

Former Haughton star Mikayla Barber led the Lady Cavs with 17 points. Ex-Byrd standout Diamond Willis scored 14, Lakendra Bradford added 11 and T’Ericka Bell had 10.

The Lady Cavs improved to 14-4 overall and 6-3 in Region XIV.

BPCC was coming off conference road losses to Angelina College, 101-67, and San Jacinto, 93-80.

Barber had 26 points against Angelina. Michee Alexander had 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Bell and Barber scored 23 and 17, respectively, against San Jacinto. Sara Housley had 14 rebounds.

The Lady Cavs don’t play again until Jan. 20. They face Coastal Bend in Alice, Texas.
