Women’s college basketball: Former Parkway stars enjoying successful seasons

Former Parkway stars Mikaylah Williams, Chloe Larry, Dakota Howard and Sh’Diamond McKnight are all enjoying successful college seasons.

Williams, a 2023 graduate, is a junior at LSU. She scored a team-high 20 points in the Tigers’ 70-65 victory over previously undefeated Texas Saturday before a full house of 13,200 at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

With one second left on the shot clock, Williams hit a 3-pointer with 1:20 left in the game to give LSU a 66-59 lead. She also finished with seven rebounds, four assists and five steals.

LSU went into the game ranked No. 12 in the AP Top 25. In the latest poll released Monday, LSU moved up to No. 6 (16-2) and Texas (18-1) dropped to No. 4.

For the season, Williams ranks third on the team in scoring at 13.3 points per game. She is shooting 53.6 percent (89-of-166) from the field, including 45.2 percent (28-of-62) from 3-point range.

Williams is also averaging 4.7 rebounds. She is tied for the team lead with 65 assists and tied for second in steals with 27.

Larry, a 2024 graduate, is a sophomore at Tennessee Tech.

She has started 13 games and is second on the team in scoring at 12.0 points per game.

Larry is shooting 36.2 percent (50-of-138) from the field, including 37.5 percent (27-of-72) from 3-point range.

She is averaging 4.8 rebounds and has 29 assists and 17 steals.

Tennessee Tech is 10-5 overall and 3-3 in the  Ohio Valley Conference.

Howard, a 2025 graduate, is a freshman at McNeese.

She is leading the team in scoring at 12.8 points per game. Howard is shooting 51.2 percent (85-of-156) from the field.

She leads the team in steals with 43 and is second in rebounding at 5.4. She also has 20 assists.

Howard had her first career double-double in a 77-55 victory over Southeastern Saturday. She scored a career-high 23 points and had 10 rebounds.

McNeese is 12-4 overall and 6-1 in the Southland Conference.

McKnight, a 2021 graduate, is a graduate student at Nicholls State.

She had started 13 games and is averaging 9.4 points, fourth on the team. She is averaging 2.9 rebounds and has 20 assists and 17 steals.

McKnight transferred from Mississippi Valley State where she started 27 games in two seasons. She averaged 13.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists.

Nicholls State is 8-6 overall and 4-3 in the Southland Conference.
