The Benton All-Stars finished runner-up in the Diamond Youth Softball 6U T-Ball Regional World Series which concluded Sunday in Laurel, Miss.
Benton went 3-0 in pool play, defeating Mt. Pleasant, Texas 10-6, Fairview, La. 12-4 and Hooks, Texas17-6.
Benton then defeated Alexandria 11-7 in the quarterfinals and Hooks 6-4 in the semifinals.
Benton faced Mt. Pleasant again in the championship game and came up a little short.
Benton reached the title game for the first time. The second-place finish follows a third-place finish last year.
