College football: How former Bossier Parish high school standouts fared in Week 12

Jackson Tinkis, Airline, US Merchant Marine Academy – The senior kicker was 3 for 3 on PATS and averaged 65 yards on kickoffs in a 42-21 loss against Coast Guard. The Mariners finished the season 5-5. Tinkis finished his football career with the following Academy records: Career Kicking Points, Career PATs, Season PATS and Game PATs.

Aeron Burrell, Parkway, LSU — The freshman kicked off five times, all for touchbacks, in LSU’s 27-16 loss to Florida .

Matthew Whitten, Haughton, Southern Arkansas — The senior tight end caught one pass for 7 yards and a touchdown in a 54-22 victory over Arkansas-Monticello. The Muleriders finished 10-2.

Melvin Smith Jr., Airline, Southern Arkansas — The senior defensive back had one solo and three total tackles in a 52-22 victory over Arkansas-Monticello..0k

Gavin Roe, Haughton, Southern Arkansas — The senior linebacker had two solo and three total tackles in a 54-22 victory over Arkansas-Monticello.

Marquis Harris, Bossier, Grambling State — The redshirt freshman tight end caught one pass for 19 yards in a 22-17 loss to Alabama A&M.

Demetrius Gladney, Haughton, Centenary — The junior had one tackle in a 49-12 loss to McMurry. The Gents finished 4-6.

Kris Mesloh, Parkway, Centenary — The sophomore defensive lineman had one tackle in a 49-12 loss to McMurry.

Trent Smith, Airline, Centenary — The junior wide receiver had two catches for two yards in a 49-12 loss to McMurry.
