High school soccer: (Updated) Benton girls remain undefeated; Haughton, Airline win in Cranberry Classic; PCA teams win

The Benton girls remained unbeaten with an 8-3 victory over West Ouachita Thursday at home.

The Lady Tigers, who host Ouachita Paris Saturday, improved to 4-0-1.

In other girls matches, Parkway and Ruston played to a 1-1 tie at Preston Crownover Stadium and Providence Classical Academy defeated North Caddo 10-2 at home.

Emma Albarado scored the Lady Panthers’ goal on an assist from Bella Schoenborn. Kelsi Lee had 11 saves.


Sofia Flowers and Ali Hamic scored three goals each for PCA (3-0). Gabi Hamic scored two. Elise Hood and Arden Williams scored one each. The Lady Knights don’t play again until after the Thanksgiving holidays.

Parkway (1-0-1) plays Evangel Christian at 11:40 a.m and Airline at 1 p.m. Saturday in Haughton’s Cranberry Classic at Harold E. Harlan Stadium.

In Cranberry Classic matches Thursday, Haughton defeated Bossier 5-1 and Airline defeated Evangel Christian 7-0 and Bossier fell to Northwood 2-0.

Natalie Nettles led Haughton with two goals. Bella Fields, Macy Watson and Lanndry Culver all scored one.

Haughton (1-1-1) plays Evangel Christian at 9 a.m. and Northwood at 2:20 p.m. Saturday on the final day of the Classic. Bossier plays North Caddo at 10:20 a.m.

Airline plays Northwood at 3:40.

In boys matches Thursday, Parkway and Ruston played to a 1-1 tie and PCA defeated North Caddo 5-0 at home.

Boyd Carroll led PCA (2-0) with three goals. Andrew Brewer and Colt Gregg scored one each.

Parkway is 1-2-2.
