Bossier Parish Sheriff Julian Whittington is proud to announce that the Bossier Sheriff’s Office will be participating in awarding a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating high school senior in Bossier Parish. This scholarship is available through the Louisiana Sheriff’s Honorary Membership Program. The goal of this program is to support and encourage local students as they continue their educational journey at a higher institution.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Be a permanent resident of Louisiana.
• Be a graduating student from a Bossier Parish high school.
• Be eligible for admission to the school listed on the application.
• Plan to be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student in an accredited high education institution within the state of Louisiana.
Sheriff Whittington express his enthusiasm for the opportunity to support local students. “Education is a powerful tool that opens doors to brighter futures,” said Sheriff Whittington. “We are excited to offer this scholarship to a deserving student who will continue their studies in Louisiana. This one small way we can invest in our community’s future.”
Scholarship applications must be submitted by April 1, 2025. All scholarship winners will be announced by May 1, 2025. Additional information on the application process can be found on the Louisiana Sheriff’s Association Website at https://lsa.org/scholarship/.
