The Benton Tigers won the North Louisiana Regional Tournament Saturday at Bossier by the narrowest of margins.
Benton scored 185 points, defeating four-time defending champion North DeSoto by one-half point. Parkway finished third with 153 and Haughton fourth with 132.5.
Benton had three individual champions — senior Cooper Reagan (175 pounds), senior Jacob Coston (190) and senior Myuan Carey (285).
Reagan pinned Byrd’s Harrison Ayres in 1:12 in his title match. Coston pinned Parkway senior Christian Harris in 1:35. Carey pinned Parkway senior Chaze Brown in 5:30.
Parkway had four champions — sophomore Christian Gentry (113), senior Joshua Tell (144), senior Larry Davis (157) and senior Dylan Meslow.
Gentry won by a 19-2 technical fall over Evangel Christian eighth-grader Logan Cornett in his title match. Tell won his by a 19-3 technical fall over Benton freshman Camden Robinson.
Davis pinned North DeSoto junior William Erdelac in :47. Mesloh won by a 19-1 technical fall over Haughton senior Brogen Dodd.
Airline senior Michael Finders won the 120-pound class by an 18-1 technical fall over Haughton junior Will Haun in the finals.
Finders was named the Outstanding Wrestler in the lower weight classes.
Five North DeSoto wrestlers won titles — sophomore Sage Stoute (126), junior Jacob Kershaw (132), junior Dalton Compton (138), senior Chase Smart (150) and sophomore Hayden Bell (165).
Byrd sophomore Owen Rainey won the 106-pound class. He edged Haughton freshman Zander Hobson 11-9 in the finals.
Parish wrestlers finishing runner-up were Hobson, Airline senior Kingston Charles (126), Benton senior Colton Stratton (132), Benton senior Jack McGuire (138), Benton’s Robinson, Benton senior Lucas Campbell (165), Parkway’s Harris, Haughton’s Dodd (215) and Parkway’s Brown.

The LHSAA State Tournament is Feb. 14-15 at the Brookshire Grocery Arena.
