GRAMBLING — Grambling State University head football coach Mickey Joseph unveiled a segment of his 2025 signing class which features nine talented mid-year signees which bolsters a Grambling State roster that retains a plethora of talent from last season.

“We’re returning about 88 percent of our roster this year, so we had to go a grab our immediate needs,” said Joseph. “We redshirted about 45-50 percent of our freshmen class, so we didn’t think it was necessary to go and bring in a heavy load of freshmen this year, so our immediate needs came from within the transfer portal.”

The Tigers are expected to add to this year’s class in the coming months.

“It’s not a full class because we only lost four players in the portal and that’s a credit to our coaches, the people in our building, the university and the relationship that we have with our student-athletes,” said Joseph. “Our kids could’ve easily jumped in the portal and choe to stay here because they love Grambling State University, they love this athletic department, they love this football team and they understand that we are building something real here and that we’re going to win.”
