Three parish teams will be in action as the LHSAA playoffs begin Thursday.
Airline (17-8), the No. 16 seed, hosts No. 17 Thibodaux (17-8) in a non-select Division I first-round game.
Benton (21-13), the No. 21 seed, travels to Slidell to play No. 13 Northshore (23-6) in non-select Division I.
In a non-select Division IV first-round game, No. 16 Plain Dealing (15-14) host No. 17 Franklin (10-10) at 6.
Two-time defending non-select Division I champion Parkway (26-4), the No. 1 seed, and No. 4 seed Haughton (26-5) both received first-round byes.
The Lady Panthers will host the Airline-Thibodaux winner in the second round next week.
Haughton will host the winner between No. 13 Destrehan (22-8) and No. 20 Ouachita Parish (18-9) in the second round.
Last season, Airline was the No. 25 seed and fell to No. 8 Haughton in the first round.
The Lady Vikings will be without standout Ke’Zyriah Sykes, who suffered a late season knee injury.
Addison McDowell and Nia Williams have been scoring leaders. Karliyah Woidard has also been a key contributor.
Benton was the No. 23 seed last year and lost to No. 10 Natchitoches Central in the first round.
Kryshna Bostic, Addison Morris, Taylor Brown, Sugar Sanchez and Bella Wiese have all contributed to the Lady Tigers’ success in Lyndzee McConathy’s first season as head coach.
Plain Dealing was the No. 24 seed last year and fell to No. 9 Oberlin in the first round.
The Lady Lions are at home in the first round for the first time since 2022 when the brackets were still divided into classes.
