The Airline Vikings swept a District 1-5A doubleheader against the Huntington Raiders 11-0 and 10-0 Saturday at Airline.

Two other 1-5A games were suspended because of the thunderstorms that rolled through the area in the afternoon.

Haughton was leading Byrd 6-3 in the bottom of the sixth at Byrd’s field at LSUS when the game was suspended. The Yellow Jackets had runners at first and third with one out.

The game is scheduled to be completed Monday, according to Haughton Head Coach Glenn Maynor.

Parkway was leading Captain Shreve 3-2 in the bottom of the third at Parkway. The Panthers had two outs with no one on base.

The game will be completed Monday at 6 p.m.

Airline and Huntington started early and the Vikings made quick work of the Raiders. The first game lasted three innings and the second four.

Brock Jordan, Austin Smith and Leo Heng all had two hits in the first game. All three had triples. Smith had three RBI. Jack Horton had two RBI.

Marshall Beaver pitched the first two innings. He allowed one hit, struck out five and walked none.

Jordan struck out two and didn’t allow a hit in the final inning.

The Vikings took advantage of eight walks in the second game. Drake Bellew had a double.

Heng, Bo Carter and Crew Chandler combined on a no-hitter with eight strikeouts and no walks.

Airline (10-5, 4-0) is scheduled to start a two-game series against Captain Shreve Thursday at home at 6 p.m.
