The Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers fell to the LSU Eunice Bengals 22-11 in seven innings Wednesday afternoon at BPCC.
BPCC (18-6) was ranked No. 24 in the latest NJCAA Division I poll. LSUE (23-1) was No. 4.
The game was tight through the first four innings with the Cavaliers trailing 6-4. But the Bengals put nine on the board in the top of the fifth.
BPCC scored one in the fifth and three in the sixth and seventh. LSUE added two in the sixth and five in the seventh.
The teams combined for 35 hits, including five home runs.
BPCC’s Brandon Levy, a former Parkway standout, went 3-for-4 with a double. Tyrus Hall went 3-for-5 with a double.
Hayden Stringfellow had two hits, including a home run, and four RBI. Parker Gwyn had two hits, including a home run, and two RBI. Dylan Biddick had two hits, including a double. Giancarlo Montanaro had a triple.
LSUE’s Jackson Legg and Tyson LeBlanc both went 4-for-5 with four RBI. LeBlanc had a home run and Legg a double.
Ashton Fuselier had three hits, including a home run, and four RBI. Alex Dupuy also hit a home run.
BPCC returns to Region 14 play Saturday with a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Angelina College.
