High school softball: Parkway downs Winnfield

The Parkway Lady Panthers defeated Winnfield 3-1 Friday at Parkway.

Madison Menard went 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBI. Addison McCall had an RBI-double. Dakota Howard and Zoey Horn also had doubles.

Macee Thompson went the distance. She allowed five hits, struck out two and walked one.

Parkway improved to 12-9. According to GeauxPreps.com, the Lady Panthers are No. 20 in the non-select Division I power rankings with two games left. The top 26 teams in the final rankings make the playoffs.

Elsewhere, Haughton fell to Sterlington 9-1 at Sterlington. Kylie Small went 2-for-3 with a double.

Haughton (16-14) is No. 19 in the power rankings. Sterlington improved to 19-6.
