The Haughton Lady Bucs improved to 2-0 with a victory over Ouachita Parish Thursday at Haughton,
The Lady Bucs dominated, winning 25-9, 25-14, 25-8.
Senior Maddie Polk had nine kills. She now has a school-record 413 in her career. Arielle Emanuel held the previous record of 405 set in 2019. Polk also had four aces.
Laila Clinton had a big night with 12 aces, 11 assists and two kills.
Imnyi Caston and Bella Van had three kills each. Aly Foster had two.
Olivia Huffstickler had three kills and two digs. Mackenzie Poole had two aces and two digs.
All six parish teams have started their seasons.
Airline bounced back from a season-opening loss to Natchitoches Central Monday with victories Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Lady Vikings defeated North Caddo 25-10, 25-10, 25-9 and Captain Shreve 25-9, 25-11, 25-15.
Benton opened its season Tuesday with a 25-17, 25-12, 25-10 victory over Evangel Christian. Benton is scheduled to play in the Ascension Episcopal tournament Saturday in Youngsville.
Parkway defeated St. Mary’s 25-20, 25-10, 25-8 Tuesday.
The Lady Panthers fell to Ruston in four sets Thursday. Ruston won the first set 25-21. Parkway evened the match with a 25-21 victory in the second. The Lady Bearcats won the next two 25-15 and 25-18.
Bossier defeated Huntington in four sets Wednesday. The Lady Kats lost the first set 25-16 then took the next three 25-21, 26-24, 25-14. Bossier fell to Caddo Magnet in three sets Thursday.
Providence Classical Academy fell to Northwood in three sets in its opener Tuesday and Loyola in three sets Thursday.
