High school boys wrestling: Haughton wins Southern Arkansas tournament; Parkway third

Haughton won  Southern Arkansas Classic Saturday in El Dorado, Ark.

Haughton scored 97 points. Evangel Christian was second with 89.5. Parkway finished third with 87.5.

Haughton had two indivual winners — Jaxsen Carroll (106 pounds) and Ja’Caleb Caldwell (285).

Carroll went 4-0 in a round robin in his class, pinning all four opponents.

Caldwell defeated teammate Lucas Wruble in a tight finals. He won by an SV-1 1-0.

Parkway’s Christian Gentry (126) and Avery Price (175) won their respective weight classes.

Gentry pinned Evangel’s Jacob Allen in :50 in his championship match. Price pinned all three of his opponents in a round robin.

Parkway’s Jude Flint (120) and Lane Basham (215) and Haughton’s Clayton Chambers (144) finished second in their respective classes.

Third-place finishers were Parkway’s Matthew Jones (106), Haughton’s Westin Allen (126) and Haughton’s Elijah Nixon (138).

Haughton’s Kaden Marks (126) was fourth. The Bucs’ fifth-place finishers were Tucker Saucier (120), Samuel Robinson (126), Nolan Simmons (150) and Jamarcion Smith (215).
