High school girls basketball: Plain Dealing, Bossier notch district wins

The Plain Dealing Lady Lions and Bossier Lady Kats won district games Tuesday night.

Plain Dealing defeated Lincoln Prep 42-18 in a District 1-1A game at Lincoln Prep, and Bossier defeated Woodlawn 51-17 in a District 1-4A game at Bossier.

At Lincoln Prep, Jakayla Douglas led Plain Dealing (13-14, 3-2) with 24 points. She scored 20 in the first half and the Lady Lions led 36-7.

Lincoln Prep dropped to 4-18 and 2-3.

Going into the game, Plain Dealing was No. 20 in the non-select Division I power rankings. The Lady Lions visit Haynesville Thursday and close the regular season at home against Ringgold Friday. 

Plain Dealing will be in the playoffs. The Nos. 5-16 teams in the final rankings host first-round games.

At Bossier, the Lady Kats improved to 9-12 overall and 2-4 in district. Woodlawn dropped to 1-22 and 0-6.

Bossier was No. 25 in the non-select Division II power rankings going into the game. The top 28 teams in the final rankings make the playoffs.

Bossier closes the regular season Friday at North DeSoto.
