The Parkway Panthers defeated Castor 9-4 Monday at Parkway.
Elsewhere, Haughton fell to Sterlington 5-2 at Haughton.
At Parkway, Katie Giovengo went 3-for-3 with two doubles. Macee Thompson went 2-for-4.
Izzy Rodriguez hit a three-run home run to give the Lady Panthers a 3-0 lead in the first.
Madison Menard had two RBI.
Thompson went the distance. She struck out seven.
Parkway opens District 1-5A play against Natchitoches Central Thursday at Parkway at 6. Castor dropped to 7-3.
At Haughton, the game was tied at 2 through three innings. Sterlington scored one in the fifth then added two more in the seventh.
Charlee Prothro and Reese Mayfield both went 2-for-3. Brianna Benecke hit a two-run double to give the Lady Bucs a 2-0 lead in the first.
Haughton (6-8) opens District 1-5A play against Captain Shreve Tuesday at Haughton at 6.
In other 1-5A openers Tuesday, Benton hosts Huntington at 6 and Airline visits Natchitoches Central at 6.
