The Parkway Lady Panthers and Airline Lady Vikings won Friday.
Parkway defeated Weston 16-5. Airline split games in the Stanley tournament, defeating Joaquin, Texas, 2-1 and failing to Logansport 11-10.
Also in the Stanley tournament, Benton fell to Stanley 4-2.
At Weston, Parkway had 10 hits. Izzy Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Zoey Horn went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI.
Addison McCall went 2-for-4. Leah McKnight had three RBI and Madison Menard two. Macee Thompson and Katie Giovengo combined for seven strikeouts in the five-inning game.
Parkway improved to 8-6. Weston fell to 2-8.
At the Stanley tournament, Airline trailed Joaquin 1-0 through four innings. The Lady Vikings tied in the bottom of the fifth and scored what proved to be the winning run in the sixth.
Tanesciya Thomas’ one-out double scored Madalynn Shortridge, who led off with a single.
Taylor Smith tossed a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts and three walks.
A seventh-inning rally against Logansport came up just short. Trailing 11-5, the Vikings scored five. Ainsley Jones’ bases-loaded triple got the Lady Vikings within one, but a flyout ended the game.
Jones went 2-for-4 with three RBI. Ainsley Hollis had a double and three RBI. Mauriana Holcomb hit a two-run home run in the fifth. Smith struck out 10.
Airline dropped to 6-5. Logansport improved to 10-4.
Benton dropped to 5-10. Stanley improved to 12-2.
