College baseball: BPCC defeats UA-Rich Mountain

The Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers powered to their 20th victory of the season, defeating Rich Mountain 12-3 in dominant fashion. BPCC’s offense was electric, racking up 12 hits while stealing six bases to keep the pressure on all game.

Brandon Levy extended his hitting streak to 10 games, going 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI. Gianluca Montanaro continued his hot streak, finishing 2-for-4 with two RBI and launching his seventh home run of the season. Braylin Harris was a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate and drew four walks to reach base in every plate appearance. Mason Sanders added a 2-for-3 performance to round out the multi-hit efforts.

On the mound, Cole Patrick earned the win, tossing 4.2 innings and allowing just one run. Trent Lape made his first appearance in three weeks after recovering from elbow soreness, throwing 1.1 innings of relief. Jace Duhon closed it out with two scoreless innings to seal the victory.

The Cavs return to action Wednesday at Paris before hosting a doubleheader against the Dragons on Saturday in Bossier City.
