High school softball: Benton rolls past Cedar Creek

The Benton Lady Tigers cruised past Cedar Creek 11-1 in five innings Monday at Benton.

Bayleigh Moniz pitched a two-hitter with five strikeouts and two walks. She also went 4-for-4 with three doubles and four RBI.

Olivia Livers went 2-for-2 with a double. Lainey Lafitte and Emma Holmes both went 2-for-3. Madison Lodatto had a double. Makaylyn Lawrence had two RBI.

Benton (10-13) hosts Airline Thursday at 6. Cedar Creek dropped to 11-10.

Elsewhere, Plain Dealing lost both halves of a doubleheader at Red River 14-0 and 10-4.

Alainah Brooks and Brianna Newton had one double each in the first game. Sanaa Lyles had a double in the second.

Plain Dealing (10-3) hosts Ringgold in a District 1-1A game Tuesday at 5:30. Red River improved to 7-7.
