High school baseball: Airline, Haughton, Plain Dealing win

The Airline Vikings and Haughton Bucs picked up non-district victories Wednesday.

Airline defeated Jonesboro-Hodge 22-0 in two innings at Jonesboro-Hodge. Haughton downed Stanley 12-5 at Haughton,

Elsewhere, Plain Dealing defeated Arcadia 16-6 at Plain Dealing, and Providence Classical Academy fell to North Webster 12-2 in Springhill.

At Jonesboro-Hodge, Austin Smith went 2-for-2 with a triple and three RBI. Leo Heng had a triple and three RBI.

Ayden Hawn and Drew Robinson both had one double and two RBI each. 

Jack Henry Smith had a double. 

Hawn and Sam Fisher pitched one perfect inning each, striking out each batter they faced.

At Haughton, CT Woodard went 2-for-4 with a home run, double and four RBI. Carson Plant went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI.

Seth Jorstad had a triple. Seth Breen had two RBI.

Starter Brady Bockhaus went three innings for the win. He had three strikeouts. Aubrey Ramsey struck out five in 3 2/3 innings.

Airline (18-11) and Haughton (19-12) begin a two-game 1-5A series Thursday at Haughton at 6.

At Plain Dealing, Bo Bailey went 4-for-4 with two triples and three RBI. Cade DeMoss went 4-for-4 with a double. 

DeMoss struck out nine in three innings. Brandon Arnold struck out two in two.

Plain Dealing (11-11) visits Southwood Thursday at 5.

At North Webster, David Mobley had a double for PCA (9-16).
