High school softball: Haughton, Parkway, Plain Dealing win on final day of regular season

Haughton, Parkway and Plain Dealing all won Tuesday on the final day of the regular season.

Haughton defeated Minden 17-0 at Minden, Parkway downed Calvin 9-1 at Parkway and Plain Dealing defeated Huntington 16-0 at Plain Dealing.

Elsewhere, Providence Classical Academy fell to Caddo Magnet 17-2 at home.

At Minden, Clara Shaffer hit two home runs and had four RBI in the five-inning game.

Skylar Hogan and Brooklyn Ezernack both went 2-for-3. Presley Yerby had a three-run triple. Kallie Sanderlin struck out seven.

Haughton (16-18) was No. 25 in the non-select Division I power rankings. The top 26 teams in the final official rankings make the playoffs.

Official first-round pairings will be announced Wednesday.

At Parkway, Izzy Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI. Addison McCall had a home run, double and three RBI. 

Macee Thompson scattered five hits, struck out eight and walked one.

Parkway closed its season 11-16.

At Plain Dealing, McKenna Fisk went 2-for-2. Neveah Fisk had a double and two RBI in the three-inning game.

Zakira Lewis had two RBI. Sofie Green allowed two hits, struck out five and walked one.

Plain Dealing (15-6) entered the game No. 12 in the non-select Division IV power rankings and will host a first-round playoff game.

At PCA, the Lady Knights closed their season 7-10.
