High school track and field: Bossier girls third in 1-4A meet; Hodge a triple winner in boys meet

Bossier finished third in the girls division in thevDistrict 1-4A meet Thursday at North DeSoto.

The Lady Kats scored 112 points. North DeSoto won with 154. Loyola was second with 124.

Bossier finished sixth in the boys division with 45 points. Northwood won with 157. Loyola was second with 115 followed by Booker T. Washington with 95, North DeSoto with 90 and Minden with 46.

The top four finishers in individual events and top four teams in the relays qualified for the Region I-4A meet next Thursday at Northwestern State.

Girls 

Zamarion Carter swept the hurdles, winning the 100 in 15.98 and 300 in 49.97. Carter’s teammate J’Diya Morris was second in the 100 in 16.64. Northwood’s Alaina Taylor finished second in the 300 in 50.59.

Carter also qualified for the regional meet in the long jump (third) and triple jump (fourth).

Kaylyn Godfrey won the 100 in 12.19. North DeSoto’s Lyric Spencer was second in 12.30.

Godfrey teamed with A’zerriana Jones, Adrianna Gooden and Orianna Edwards to win the 4X200 relay in 1:48.21. BTW was second in 1:49.79.

Edwards and Gooden finished second and third, respectively, in the 400 in 1:04.30 and 1:05.13. Woodlawn’s Michal Gustain won in 1:01.31.

The foursome of Morris, Tay’Eiona Jackson, Jones and Godfrey finished second in the 4X100 relay in 51.24. Loyola won in 49.65.

The team of Morris, Gooden, Jones and Edwards took second in the 4X400 in 4:24.55. BTW won in 4:21.32.

Bossier’s 4X800 relay team comprised of Ayana Brydson, Nyla Rivera, Tiana Kirkendoll and Keriya Davis qualified for the regional with a fourth-place finish.

Rivera was third in the javelin. Tre’onaa Thomas finished fourth in the discus.

Boys

Quinton Hodge had a busy and very successful meet.

He won the 800 in 2:00.40, the 1,600 in 4:50.84 and the 3,200 in 10:40.01.

Southwood’s Nyangadzai Jenya was second in the 800 in 2:02.10. Loyola’s Jacques Braud finished second in the 1,600 in 4:53.21 and the 3,200 in 10:41.01.

The foursome of Mitchell Taylor, Hodge, Ethan Dodson and O’marion Edwards qualified for the regional with a fourth-place finish in the 4X400.

Dodson also finished fourth in the long jump.
