College baseball: Former Haughton star Christian Turner’s home run gives Arkansas walk-off win against Ole Miss

Former Haughton star Christian Turner hit a walk-off home run to give Arkansas a 5-4 victory over Ole Miss Saturday in Fayetteville.

The Razorbacks trailed 4-3 going into the bottom of the ninth. Nolan Souza led off the inning then Turner came up to bat. The freshman fouled off two pitches after a first strike. He did the same after a ball. Turner sent the next pitch over the right center field wall, sending the home crowd into a frenzy,

Turner entered the game in the eighth at right field. He also served as a pinch runner.

It was Turner’s second home run this season. The victory gave Arkansas the series win two games to one.

Arkansas improved to 32-17 overall and 13-11 in the SEC. Ole Miss dropped to 32-17 and 12-12.

Turner has appeared in 31 games this season and started 10.

He was an All-America and two-time Class 5A All-State selection at Haughton.
