The Haughton Lady Bucs, Airline Lady Vikings and Bossier Lady Kats won matches Thursday.
Haughton and Bossier both pulled out a five-set victories. The Lady Bucs defeated Captain Shreve at Shreve to improve to 2-0. The Lady Kats downed Caddo Magnet at home in their season opener.
Airline defeated Red River in three straight sets at home for is first victory of the season.
Parkway came close to getting its first victory. The Lady Panthers dropped a marathon five-set thriller to West Ouachita at West Monroe.
At Captain Shreve, the first four sets were tight. The Lady Bucs won the first 28-26 and the Lady Gators took the second 30-28.
Captain Shreve went up two sets to one with a 25-22 victory in the third. Haughton evened the match with a 25-22 victory in the fourth. The Lady Bucs dominated the decisive fifth 15-2.
Ava Dickey and Mikaela Poole had double-doubles.
Dickey had 14 assists and 13 kills. She also had seven aces and seven digs.
Poole 16 assists, 14 digs, six kills and four aces.
Bella Van had 12 kills, nine digs, two aces and one block. Hannah Strange had 17 digs, four kills and three aces. Skylar Hogan had five aces, five kills, two blocks and four digs. Tavyanna Norwood had five kills and two blocks.
Haughton (2-0) visits Benton Tuesday.
At Airline, the Lady Vikings evened their record at 1-1 with the 25-17, 25-14, 25-21 victory. Airline is playing in the Ascension Episcopal tournament Saturday.
At Bossier, the Lady Kats won the first two sets 26-24 and 25-22. Magnet took the next two 25-21 and 25-23. Bossier won the finale 15-7.
Bossier (1-0) hosts Magnolia School of Excellence Tuesday.
At West Ouachita, Parkway lost the first set 25-23 and won the second 26-24. West Ouachita took the third 28-26. The Panthers evened the match with a 26-24 victory in the fourth. The final set also went down to the wire with the Lady Chiefs pulling out a 20-18 victory.
Parkway (0-3) hosts Byrd Tuesday.
