On the morning of 18 September, Barksdale Air Force Base initiated a lockdown after receiving reports of an active shooter threat. Barksdale emergency personnel responded and the incident has been resolved. There were no injuries and there is no threat to the installation at this time.
“The safety of Team Barksdale is absolutely paramount. We are proud of the expert response provided by our emergency personnel who were able to quickly resolve the threat,” said Col. Chris Cain, 2nd Bomb Wing commander. “Routine training is what allows us to respond to situations with confidence and keep our community safe.”
The situation is currently under investigation and there are no additional details at this time.
