The Plain Dealing Lions fell to the Acadiana Christian Lions 38-16 Friday night in New Iberia.
Plain Dealing dropped to 0-3. Acadiana Christian, a first-year program, improved to 1-2.
The touchdowns were Plain Dealing’s first of the season. Tyrone Davis caught a TD pass and Ja’marion Baker-Shepard scored on a run.
The game was a scoreless tie after the first quarter. But Acadiana Christian scored three touchdowns in the second quarter and led 22-6 at the half.
Plain Dealing was within two touchdowns in the fourth quarter but Acadiana Christian added another one late in the game.
Plain Dealing visits North Caddo Friday. The Titans (0-2) lost to Lakeside 34-0 Friday night.
Logansport 50, Bossier 8: At Logansport, the Bearkats fell to the Tigers for the third straight year.
Bossier dropped to 2-1. Logansport, ranked No. 6 in the LSWA Class 1A poll, improved to 3-0.
Bossier played without star junior quarterback Montrevell Lewis, who suffered an injury last week against Glenbrook. Bossier Head Coach Gary Smith said Saturday that Lewis’ status is uncertain but he is doubtful to play in the Bearkats’ District 1-4A opener against Minden Thursday night at home. The Crimson Tide (3-0) defeated West Ouachita 56-36 Friday night.
With freshman Shante Wells at quarterback, Bossier remained within striking distance at halftime, trailing 22-8.
“He played well,” Smith said. “Logansport is good.”
