High school cross country: Parkway’s Robin wins LCA boys race; Parkway boys runner-up, girls third

Brennan Robin won the boys race and Parkway finished runner-up in the LCA Knights Invitational at Sievers Airfield meet Saturday in Lafayette.

Robin covered the 5K course in 14 minutes, 59.20 seconds. Lafayette’s Maddox Tolbert was second in 15:29.80. Robin and Tolbert also finished 1-2 in Parkway’s Border Dash meet earlier this month.

Parkway scored 65 points. Catholic-Baton Rouge, which finished third in last year’s Division I state meet, won with 30.

Other Parkway runners in the scoring were Aiden O’Nishea (13th, 16:20.50), Isaac Ruliffson (15th, 16:21.70), Braxton Thomas (19th, 16:36.40) and Javaria Flournoy (21st, 16:39.20).

Pierce Dees finished 24th, Landon Champagne 35th and Noah Stoute 39th. The race featured 201 competitors.

Alaina Stout led the Parkway girls with a 17th-place finish out of 151 competitors. She ran a 20:56.30. Parkview Baptist’s Molly Cramer won in 18:30.40

Caylee Weaver finished 22nd in 21:08.89. Chloe Wells was 30th in 21:32.60.

Parkway finished third out of 16 teams that posted scores with 106 points. Academy of Sacred Heart-New Orleans won with 61.

Other Parkway runners in the scoring were Zainab Ayache (36th, 22:14.59) and Phoebe Alamos (39th, 22:23.50).

Elsewhere, Airline’s John Austin Bonney finished 12th in the Cedar Creek Invitational meet boys race. He covered the Lincoln Parish Park 5K course in 16:57.08. Cedar Creek’s Luke Alexander won in 15:36.24.

Airline finished sixth in the boys division.

Ariel Gant led the Airline girls with a 28th-place finish in 23:50.73. Byrd’s Isabel Wooley won in 18:22.24.
