The Bossier Parish Police Jury approved a $1.44 million construction award for Lucky Estates drainage improvements during its Oct. 7 meeting, moving a long-planned project toward construction.
The action approved the base bid and one alternate for Project 2025-134 in Police Jury District 12. SAMS Construction, LLC submitted the lowest combined bid of $1,439,606.37, according to the parish’s supporting bid tabulation.
The total includes a base bid of $1,370,081.37 and an alternate of $69,525. The other bidder, Synergen Construction, LLC, submitted a combined bid of $1,957,902.50.
Parish Engineer Eric Hudson told jurors the parish had worked on the project with the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness for years. He recommended awarding the base bid and alternate, and the motion passed.
The supporting documents list a combined cost estimate of $1,244,795, approximately $194,811 below the accepted bid.
The jury also authorized execution of documents associated with the award. A construction start date and completion schedule were not announced during the item.
