The Bossier Parish Police Jury approved a $38,720 proposal from Fugro USA Land, Inc. to help develop a longer-term road-maintenance and rehabilitation plan during its Oct. 7 meeting.
The proposal builds on pavement-condition data Fugro collected in 2025 for approximately 812 lane miles of parish-maintained roads, according to documents accompanying the agenda.
The work includes analysis of maintenance treatments, costs and budget scenarios, followed by a multi-year work plan. The proposal calls for the requested planning analysis to begin with 2029 while considering projects already planned for 2027 and 2028.
Parish Engineer Eric Hudson described the work as the next phase of the parish’s earlier pavement-assessment effort and a step toward longer-term maintenance planning.
The fee includes $5,900 for project management, $25,100 for pavement-management services and $7,720 for reporting and deliverables.
Fugro anticipates completing the work within three months after receiving a notice to proceed. The resulting report is expected to include a multi-year repair plan and geographic data identifying roadway sections and proposed treatments.
The Oct. 7 action approved the consulting proposal and execution of documents. It did not adopt a final repair list or construction budget for the eventual plan.
