It’s June Artwalk Time!  The Downtown Shreveport Artwalk is Wednesday, June 5th, 5pm – 8 pm.  Artwalk has something for everyone and it’s free…it is the Downtown Development Authority’s gift to the community.  This Artwalk will highlight the 400-block area of Texas and Marshall Streets and will celebrate the unique venues while featuring local artistry, live demonstrations, and special events.  Come stroll the street, visit participating venues, meet local artists, purchase some fabulous art, hear live music, and enjoy some special menu items.   Robert Trudeau will be hosting the new Downtown Tells event at Huddie Ledbetter’s statue.  “As a Huddie Ledbetter demonstrator, I will encourage audience participation in shuffle dance and hand percussion as well as sing-along (or chant-along).” Robert E Trudeau.  You can’t miss that, right?  Sketch the City is back with Mischa Farrell.

The event provides various food & drink options plus three hours of free entertainment all while exploring downtown.  As in the past, Artwalk has no starting place or stopping point so that means where you start, the direction you take, and where you end is all up to you!  A map to guide you for the event can be found at www.downtownshreveport.com/artwalk.

Wear comfortable shoes while you find your way to these participating stops. Pop N Pizza – 500 Texas Street; Ashley Tiers of Love- 420 Marshall Street; Noble Savage – 417 Texas Street; 421 Texas Street; One Texas Centre – 415 Texas Street

So much to experience:  find your very special art piece, visit with local artists, and experience downtown Shreveport.  To find out more about the Downtown Artwalk and see the full list of events be sure to follow Shreveport DDA and Downtown Artwalk on all socials or visit www.downtownshreveport.com/artwalk or email [email protected]
