Consolidated Waterworks/Sewerage District No. 1 has issued a precautionary boil
advisory for Village Water System customers due to a water main break on Princeton
Road.
A 2-inch water main beneath the railroad crossing failed, causing the break. Work crews
isolated the affected area and replaced the damaged line with a new 4-inch main,
restoring water service.
As a precaution, water samples have been collected and submitted to the Louisiana
Department of Health laboratory in Shreveport for testing.
Until further notice, customers affected by this advisory should bring all water to a
rolling boil for at least one minute before using it for:
Drinking
Cooking
Making ice
Brushing teeth
Washing fruits and vegetables
Bottled water may also be used as an alternative.
The boil advisory will remain in effect until laboratory testing confirms the water is safe
for consumption.
